Excess Luggage

When we want to embark on a journey, we plan it and set the things we need on that trip and before taking off. Importantly, where we are going determines what kind of luggage we carry and the level of planing we put in. This is because carrying more luggage than necessary always attracts a cost and so is improper planning. The same applies to our journey to success. There are things we desperately need on our journey to success or to help us down the road to achieving our breakthrough in success.  But there are also things we don't need because they don't contribute to the success we want and such things constitute excess luggage if we don't drop them. And every excess luggage attracts an extra cost and burden on the individual involved. 

The decisions we make daily in our bid to achieving our purpose of creation affects us greatly and determines the extent we can go. Gone are the days when the evil (bad decisions) that men make live after them, now it lives with them. So, be careful about the decisions you make because it can mare you or make you depending on its relevance to your life ambitions. 

A key fact in life is that we can like everything, deserve everything but can not have everything. Thus, in life there must be something that will live us if we must reach our target. Excess luggage can make us see our target but not get there. There are also certain relationships we must leave for us to attain our goal. Excess luggage can also make us lack focus because it continues to hold us down. Therefore, we must prioritise rightly.Show me a very successful man and I will show you a hard sacrifice he had made by forgoing certain things in his life!

You have to make up your mind for something that could come before it actually comes your way. Thus, it's important to take a stand before hand on what you want your life to be. Looking inwardly, one will see that most great men today have sacrificed their sleep, friends, pleasure and many other things necessary in life to attain the height they are now. All these constitute excess luggage that's why they deprived themselves of it. What are you depriving yourself of to attain your goal?

Motherly Love

What can compare a mother’s love?
Friends may fail
Lovers may be unfaithful 
Husband and wife may be unfaithful, 

But, a mother's love is faithful and overcomes the wind!

Mum you are the best!

And your love rejuvenates me
oh, how you overwhelmed me with care,
Darling mum, you are the best in the whole world,
I love you mum!  

In pain and sorrow you protect me

With love, you guide me

In kindness and humility you taught me to be the best

With care and passion you instruct me

With compassion you reprimand to make me better,

You are a blessing to womanhood!

You placed Gold on my fingers
You brought love like I've never seen,
Day by day you gave me the reason to live,

My saddest moments are made paradise through you
Mere knowledge of you, rejuvenates me,
I love you ever mum!

Names I can change,

Friends might fail and leave

Possessions may be damaged and changed

But a mother can never be changed

Mum, you are the best that can ever be!

Oh what can equate a mother's love,
Dearing and compassionate,
Ever protecting her child,
Never remembers the faults,
Always kind and caring

A love so amazing indeed!

Is Love really Blind? by Raymond

Love they say is blind but wait a minute, think twice is it true? Or people are just using that phrase to exaggerate their passion for one another. A candle flame hardly diminishes but when it does where do you think the flame has gone to? There is a power far beyond human understanding that controls the product of a chemical reaction in our body called "love", this power controls and directs the candle flame.....so if you can get hold of this power you are in a better position to find love, to speak love and exercise love. Genuine love renders you speechless with no doubt because love speaks for itself, it doesn't need an interpreter. You find it hard to admire someone simply because you think and believe that you are not admirable, and when you see someone that you really fancy your heart rate increases and your blood pressure fickle without any delay just like a fickle lover. If only you can be able to form a mental picture of what other person feels, that means nothing but compatibility.....Go ahead and pour down your peace its nothing but emotions with a good intent right from the bottom of your heart! This emotions is so strong and rejuvenating that it covers all faults and wrong doings, thus the saying 'love is blind'.

What side are you, on the side of angels or beast?

Many times we find ourselves going through life like a piece of paper in the wind; blown in directionless manner. It is important we journey through life with clearly outlined direction. This direction includes your purposes, plans and visions. You are on earth for a purpose, you know! It is important you belong to one side; the side of the beast or that of the angels. The side of the beast includes following life as it comes without aims, plans and purposes. It leads to a filling of disappointment, failure and frustration. But, being on the side of the angels involve developing clearly defined life targets, visions, plans and purposes for life. It gives a filling of fulfillment, satisfaction and long term joy.

Regrettably, many youths today don't know the reason for their existence, they don't have a particular stand. Some don't even know what they want to become in life, neither do they know where the things they are doing or studying will lead them. They do it probably because a friend they dearly cherish is doing it. They approach life in a lackadaisical manner, tossed about in no specific manner. Be yourself! Don't imitate others because what worked for them might not work for you!!  He that is on the side of the angels is hardly moved by peer pressure, life circumstances and challenges because he knows that there is no crown without a cross.

We need to clearly define our direction in life based on our visions and life targets to avoid being blown away by the wind of life and tossed about helplessly in the vicissitudes of life. To do this, we need to set life targets for years ahead. And, the strength of our purposes can determine how effectively we can overcome the vicissitudes of life and become a legend. Another reason why we need to define our purposes and aims is that there are people who are linked to your success and this people will be lured to you through your plans and purposes; and they will help you accomplish it quicker. It will also enable you identify with those who have similar plans and purposes; and help them achieve theirs or form a partnership for the common good of all involved.

I want to charge you to set your life targets today and clearly define where you are going, and what difference you hope to make in life.

Lonely Christmas

Rising early in the morning I heard the birds singing,
The trees dancing to the rhythm of the bright lovely morning,
The sun shining as bright as Moses’ forehead,

Men shouting and singing their lovely Christmas song,
The message is clear,
It's Christmas!

Boxes wrapped in golden colours of Christmas transcending,
Flowers to loved ones and Cards to friends,
Friends and loved ones hanging out and celebrating,
And people singing in the gentle Christmas bliss.

Where is my portion, I humbly asked,
No flowers, no boxes, no gifts at all,
Not even a loved one around to encourage!

No one to celebrate with!
Loneliness knocks at my door,
Depression became my Christmas gift.

Boredom my food and tears my I gladly drink,
None to cheer me up, None to make life look meaningful!
Is there any reason to live? I asked!
Can I ever celebrate Christmas with family and friends by my side?

Cheering me up, making merriment and singing together!
Will I ever be greeted on Christmas Day with flowers, cards, and boxes?

While wallowing in this frustration,

Overwhelmed by the feeling of dejection and rejection,

You brought hope and life into my bones,

Cos you are a friend who sticks closer than a brother,

You are Jesus Christ, friend to friendless,

And hope to the hopeless.

You took away my loneliness!

Christmas, why celebrate it?

Counting down to Christmas, I stand amaze!
Birds are singing,
The streets of men quake with noise and jubilation,
Can someone please tell what's going on?
It's Christmas, Christmas they say!

Christmas! Christmas!! Christmas!!!

A child is born, a birth incarnated,
So, significant an arrival it is!

Birth of Christianity it marked,

Birth of a saviour come to save his people from sins

A son sent from the father himself, a deliverer! a Redeemer!

He's God's sent, and has come that we be reconciled to the father,

He’s called the messiah, the Christ!

He’s called wonderful, Councillor, and everlasting father,

Oh, see the government upon his shoulders!

He’s the prince of peace,

Of his Government there will be no end!

No longer will my soul perish in sin,

For my saviour is come

Here is he in human form,

Humble, he came laid in a manger,

Rejoice, therefore my soul!

It’s Christmas! And Christianity begins!
