Lonely Christmas

Rising early in the morning I heard the birds singing,
The trees dancing to the rhythm of the bright lovely morning,
The sun shining as bright as Moses’ forehead,
Men shouting and singing their lovely Christmas song,
The message is clear,
It's Christmas!

Boxes wrapped in golden colours of Christmas transcending,
Flowers to loved ones and Cards to friends,
Friends and loved ones hanging out and celebrating,
And people singing in the gentle Christmas bliss.

Where is my portion, I humbly asked,
No flowers, no boxes, no gifts at all,
Not even a loved one around to encourage!
No one to celebrate with!
Loneliness knocks at my door,
Depression became my Christmas gift.

Boredom my food and tears my I gladly drink,
None to cheer me up, None to make life look meaningful!
Is there any reason to live? I asked!
Can I ever celebrate Christmas with family and friends by my side?
Cheering me up, making merriment and singing together!
Will I ever be greeted on Christmas Day with flowers, cards, and boxes?

While wallowing in this frustration,
Overwhelmed by the feeling of dejection and rejection,
You brought hope and life into my bones,
Cos you are a friend who sticks closer than a brother,
You are Jesus Christ, friend to friendless,
And hope to the hopeless.
You took away my loneliness!

Christmas, why celebrate it?

Counting down to Christmas, I stand amaze!
Birds are singing,
The streets of men quake with noise and jubilation,
Can someone please tell what's going on?
It's Christmas, Christmas they say!

Christmas! Christmas!! Christmas!!!
A child is born, a birth incarnated,
So, significant an arrival it is!
Birth of Christianity it marked,
Birth of a saviour come to save his people from sins
A son sent from the father himself, a deliverer! a Redeemer!

He's God's sent, and has come that we be reconciled to the father,
He’s called the messiah, the Christ!
He’s called wonderful, Councillor, and everlasting father,
Oh, see the government upon his shoulders!
He’s the prince of peace,
Of his Government there will be no end!

No longer will my soul perish in sin,
For my saviour is come
Here is he in human form,
Humble, he came laid in a manger,
Rejoice, therefore my soul!
It’s Christmas! And Christianity begins!

A Sojourner

As you read this ask yourself what will I do to better the life of others, to be remembered when you leave this world?

A sojourner indeed I am in this world, poor me! This life is good, enjoy it to the fullest but in all, my stay on this earth is limited. Even if I don't die, there will come a time when I will want to work but I can't perhaps due to old age or due to lack of opportunity. So, maximize every moment in life! Maximize every opportunity that comes your way some of they may never come again. And, your attitude to an opportunity can either bring more or block you in future.
A man once said that the greatest place on earth is the cemetery because there you will find lots of 'hard i known', great dreams unfulfilled, talents unused, and also achievers, people whom the world cannot forget, they are continually remembered for what they did during their short stay on earth. There you will find professors, teachers, Preachers, World leaders, to mention but a few some of whom never realized they had such great a gift. But where are they now, lost in the grave of course! helpless!! wishing they have a second chance!!!
Come to think of it, if I have limited stay here on earth then I am expected to do something that the world will remember, I am expected to impacted mankind positively, I am expected to motivate people, I am expected to reach my full potential and fulfill the purpose for which i was created because I'm not here by mistake.
The bible says: the earnest expectation of creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.. (Rom. 8:17). Therefore, if I am a son of God the world, my generation and generations unborn are waiting for my manifestation just like the manifestation of other people have improved my life in this world in different ways. I cannot afford to fail! But there is a problem, I am only a sojourner in this earth and my stay is limited, the time I have to do them are limited. What about challenges to my achieving them? The truth is that time is the most valuable gift given to all men on earth equally, whether rich or poor, great or small, presidents, governors, or students. We all have 24hrs a day! There are challenges, struggles and problems that we will face in one way or the other on our way to attaining our potentials, but they are there to strengthen us. I can't give up! Nothing good comes easy, you know!! What about little David, who summoned courage to face and defeat Goliath to liberate his people Israel?
What will I do as sojourner to maximize my stay on earth?
1. I have to see above my present limitations, see a great future in those limitations
2. Decide to leave a good footprint wherever I go
3. Identify my purpose of being at a particular place at a particular time and work towards making the most of them.

Leave as a sojourner by maximizing every moment of your life, touching peoples' lives positively!
